A bit pricey, but there again so are most pet shops
Overall its a good pet shop but it is like any other in the way that basic/little knowledge is known about reptiles but there is good knowledge of small animals, cats and dogs. When it comes to buying reptiles I have mixed experiences. When I bought my leopard gecko from here, I was told all the correct information and sold the right vivarium. However, my brother bought a bearded dragon and had to return its vivarium as it was the wrong one (it was meant for snakes) and didn't have the UV lighting or the correct heating equipment needed for the animal. However, they did accept a return. When it comes to hamsters I've always had good experiences from this garden centre (before jolleyes was there and after) and I have never had a problem. There is a wide range of products for small animals, cats and dogs but a limited selection of reptile products and depending on the day you go, the reptile food is fresh.
Bought a rabbit from here 8 months ago. Alone in a small enclosure (rabbits are social creatures) and need lots of room to run around. He was already 6 months old. He was left on his own enough for it to affect his personality and for a vet to be able to tell us that he had not been handled or looked after up to a standard that they require. Also the same sales assistant told me one thing and a year prior my friend bought a rabbit and was told the complete opposite, which makes me think they either have no idea what they're doing or don't care and are only interested in making a profit rather than looking after the animals welfare.
