Very cosy old pub steeped in history. You will be drinking and eating in a place once frequented by Oliver Cromwell no less! Staff and management very welcoming and polite. Very comprehensive menu.We had the Sunday roast which arrived at our table piping hot and nicely cooked. My starter of chicken satay was delicious if a little overwhelming in quantity, I'd have been just as happy with less.We didn't venture to desserts.A very interesting building with a long history. We'll worth a visit.Parking a little limited. But that can't be helped due to location.

For a first visit to this quaint little pub, I find the proprietor and all who waited on us were extremely pleasant and welcoming and the sumptuous meal most enjoyable. I am delighted that I chose the Roast Beef with all the trimmings although others seem to have enjoyed the Roast Pork. I will certainly return.
